Privateer and pirate hunter, Captain Thomas Crowe, has been commissioned by the governor of Havana to hunt down and capture the cunning and deadly pirate, Captain Jake Hawking. With a renewed feeling of duty and excitement, Crowe and his crew head for the island to rescue Thorpe’s crew. But when they arrive, they find danger lurking around every cove and inlet, and soon Crowe comes face to face with Jake Hawking himself.

I just love these stories. Aucoin really knows his history and enjoys writing about what he knows. Jack is such a scoundrel and fully of cunning strategy. The action described in the story is vivid and draws the reader in as if watching it first hand. I could almost smell the gun powder and see the smoke. Jack is continuing to wave his hat in the air with a sheepish grin in the back of my mind even as I write this review. Please Mr. Aucoin you must make this your career and make Jack as popular as the characters you so love.Product details

Great intro to a fun pirate - can't wait for more adventures on the high seas
Yet again I can say....LONG LIVE JAKE HAWKING!! These adventures are always a fun read and I can wait for J.M. Aucoin to write another! Every time I read all these adventures it feels like a new experience. I recommend to buy the entire series and just enjoy for only a few bucks! JUST A FEW BUCKS HOW CAN YOU BEAT THAT?? YOU CAN'T!! Sit back and enjoy the fun ride these books bring you on!
This series of stories has been really fun to read. The pirates in the story aren't passed off as non-criminals, just criminals with a code. This is a great introduction to the series full of great surprises.
The Royal Bounty Hunter is my favorite of the three Jake Hawking stories. It's a quick, clever, and witty adventure with a cast of characters that I have consistently enjoyed reading about.
J.M. Aucoin presents a romanticized swashbuckling adventure in a way that keeps in the tradition of the greatest of the genre, but adds his own particular flair for grit and daring that makes the stories unique and enjoyable. I would heartily recommend this, or any of the Jake Hawking stories, to anyone looking for something fun to read.

This story is lengthier than the previous tale, and focuses on one of three bounty hunters searching for the elusive pirate Jake Hawking and his crew. When Captain Thomas Crowe rescues a fellow British navy officer stranded at sea, he learns that his infamous prey is nearby. As Crowe imagines the reward that will be his upon the capture of Hawking, the wily pirate proves to be bolder and more cunning than ever.
A welcome second story in this series, the excellent research and knowledge of the genre holds Aucoin in good stead and will keep the reader engrossed. Recommended for pirate lovers and readers of adventure.
Although I still want to see a little more action in these Jake Hawking adventures, TRBH doesn't disappoint in the adventure department. This is a fun short story that shows the hero using his wits against one of the many privateers sent to capture him, and the story reminds me of some of those old Captain Blood tales, the sort that involve the hero's clever thinking saving the day rather than his sword-arm. I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment.
